Illegal Contact (The Barons, #1) by Santino Hassell 4.5 Star Review!

Illegal Contact (The Barons) by Santino Hassell 4.5 Stars!

New York Barons tight end Gavin Brawley is suspended from the team and on house arrest after a video of him brawling goes viral. Gavin already has a reputation as a jerk with a temper on and off the field—which doesn’t help him once he finds himself on the wrong side of the law. And while he’s been successful professionally, he’s never been lucky when it comes to love.

Noah Monroe is a recent college grad looking for a job—any job—to pay off his mounting student debt. Working as Gavin’s personal assistant/babysitter seems like easy money. But Noah isn’t prepared for the electrifying tension between him and the football player. He’s not sure if he’d rather argue with Gavin or tackle him to the floor. But both men know the score, and neither is sure what will happen once Gavin’s timeout is over…

Review

Yea! So good! Yea! Gavin and Noah are awesome and watching them fall in love is a joy.

This is a great sports romance with so much couple time. We get a “cabin”romance with two detailed and complex heroes.

Everything about this book shines. The writing is excellent as is the cast and the romance is swoony.

Gavin works hard and is admirable and watching his character develop is pure pleasure. Noah is really great and his internal conflicts are realistic and compelling.

They are a wonderful couple. I really like how Hassell gives us a bisexual hero and full build contemporary world.

If you like Marina Zapata’s The Wall of Winnipeg and me, you will love this book.

Nice free short story with a quick sweet romance between and older writer hero and younger man looking to find a treasure. There is a nice bit of history and a whole lot of fun in this quick read.

Blue Mountain (Pack #1) by Cardeno C. Review

Blue Mountainby Cardeno C. 3.5 Stars!

Exiled by his pack as a teen, Omega wolf Simon Moorehead learns to bury his gentle nature in the interest of survival. When a hulking, rough-faced Alpha catches Simon on pack territory, he tries to escape what he’s sure will be imminent death. But instead of killing him, the Alpha takes Simon home.

A man of action, Mitch Grant uproots his life to support his brother in leading the Blue Mountain pack. Mitch lives on the periphery, quietly protecting everyone, but always alone. A mate is a dream come true for Mitch, and he won’t let little things like Simon’s rejections, attacks, and insults get in their way. With patience, seduction, and genuine care, Mitch will ride out the storm while Simon slays his own ghosts and Mitch’s loneliness.

Review

I tend to like Cardeno C best when the plots are character driven and we get oodles of couple time.

In this Wolf Shifter Romance, we get a badly emotionially scarred Omega wolf hero and a gentle giant (but really fierce with everyone else) Alpha Wolf hero.

Almost all the book is spent with the Alpha Hero giving the Omega Hero time to trust and heal. It is sweet and lovely.

The world building is uneven but it is a nice read.

Barbarian’s Tease (Ice Planet Barbarians, #16) by Ruby Dixon Review

Barbarian’s Tease  by Ruby Dixon 2,5 Stars!

It should have been a one-night stand.

I never intended to seduce Taushen, but things happened. I don’t dwell on the past and while it was great, I’m not looking for a relationship. Of course, try telling that to Taushen. The big blue alien’s in love after one night, and it’s making things darn awkward. We’ve got bigger problems than whether or not I’m his woman, like the ‘cargo’ of the space ship that landed here.

But Taushen’s not giving up. He thinks I’m his mate.

And he’ll do anything to keep me.

I enjoy this series and I am happy that series is spinning off into new fun.

The cabin/road aspect of the plot is nice and the hero is great. He is steadfast and sweet and hot.. I have no idea why he is into Brooke.

This first half of the book is annoying. The second half when Brooke decides she likes him is charming.

If you like this series, read this one to get to the next one.
