Jailed (Terran Times) Viola Grace Review

Review:

Jailed - Viola Grace

Kori makes a friend in prison who introduces her to a world where sensation rules and pleasure is the first rule of hospitality.

Kori has spent six months in Janial prison for breaking etiquette and stepping in a puddle. It was complicated.

When she is released from the prison, she has to find a job and her friend from inside offers her as much time as she likes on a world where heat and minimal clothing are the standard.

Kori gives in to the new culture and finds herself in the position of being seduced in the name of hospitality.

The small woman with the blue hair and ability to wrap his sister around her little finger intrigues Norod. When he touches her skin, he is enthralled and wants to explore more, and there is one way to give him the opportunity. He will insist on his duties as host. Giving pleasure is his duty and his only window into her bed

It is always interesting to see a character adjusting to freedom again and seeking a new life. The romance in this one is very sexy and heroine gives even better than she gets.

Ascent by Viola Grace Review

Review:

Ascent - Viola Grace

Lili Ann Baker has been enjoying her time as a cargo captain. She spends huge swathes of time alone getting world building materials to where they are needed and the appreciative recipients give her the feedback that she needs. When she delivers the final harvest containment to Geko 7, the party that erupts is wild and she is invited by the grateful population to enjoy the fruits of their first harvest.

Admittedly, Lili Ann has more wine than she can account for and the next morning she wakes up in bed with a man who does not meet the specs of the colonists. She assumes he is a pilot, like her, and sneaks away in the early dawn hours.

Her ascent is denied by a hungover ground control and she has to wait on the tarmac until the local government can sort things out. Imagine her surprise when her bedmate is leaning against the side of her vehicle, the mind of the Geko 7 swirling in his eyes.

Yavoy has been waiting for decades to find a woman of his own and despite her rather relaxed language, Lili Ann has something that completes him, an enthusiasm for life.

Asteroid - Viola Grace

Sebena has spent her time in the Alliance using her accuracy to blow large rocks into tiny rocks suitable for refinement. When she picks up a heat signature she has to pursue it, even if it means doing it on her own time. Finding a life pod is not really a surprise, but having it functioning and its occupant alive is quite the shock.

Issul is the avatar of the planet Zeering and has been lost in the asteroid field for a century. Opening his eyes in the mining vessel, he sees his rescuer and both he and the world within him have a visceral reaction to her.

I adore this heroine who insists on doing the right thing and is reward with love.  Her job is cool too and the romance fun.

Bait by Viola Grace Review

Bait - Viola Grace

Billie first met the love of her life when she was working for the Alliance, but he transferred from her unit, and he was out of her life. Two years later, she is on an assignment to recruit more Enforcers of the Oefric species. Their instincts, shifting abilities and love of order make them ideal officers.

Arcros knew that he could not remain in the same unit as his Terran. He wouldn’t be able to control himself if she was near him and that was a dereliction of duty he was not going to court. Three years later, his people finally admit that he has already chosen his mate and he is allowed to send for her. The Alliance wants twenty warriors in exchange for the woman, and Arcros believes that he is getting the best part of that deal.

I don’t tend to like reunion romance but this one worked for me because of culture elements. A nice read for a lazy afternoon.

This short story is made special by the friendships as well as the fated mate love story. I really like that we get lots of time with the couple and a building of a world.

Review

This short science fiction romance takes all kinds of twists and turns. The secondary romance is just as compelling as the primary one but we don’t get to see as much of that love story as we could.

This is an interesting world and characters worth reading about.
